Sustainability has always been an important focus in the Emerald City, and here at McDowell Built we capitalize on the beauty and efficiency of "green" materials every day.

Owner Profile

A Seattle native, Mark's love of design began at the age of 12 when he would stay up at night drawing motor homes, sailboats and bachelor pads. Most weekends were spent traveling around the Eastside with his mother, visiting the open houses of Northwest building legends like Black and Caldwell, Swanson/ Dean and the architect Ralph Anderson.

After studying architecture at WSU, Mark started a subcontracting company which provided the structural framing for many of King and Snohomish counties’ best builders. He has served as a lead carpenter, construction superintendent and project designer/manager, building everything from multifamily homes, restaurants and schools to hospitals and office buildings.

In his free time Mark enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping, along with music and occasionally tipping back a craft beer.
